Hello

Approximate read time: 2 minutes13 engaged reads

The first post of any blog is usually meant to greet its visitors. Following that tradition, I want to say hello to everyone who has found, seen, or heard about this blog.

My aim is to organize and keep documents I come across related to pharmacognosy and pharmaceutical botany, as well as phytotherapy, native species in our country, and nature in general (and related topics) in a way that makes them easy to access later. We’ve all experienced this: we stumble upon a fantastic website or document with the help of Google, but after a short while, we forget where we found it or whether we saved it on our computer. At first, I used to write down or bookmark links to avoid losing them. Later, I realized I even forgot where I had written them, so I started printing out the things that interested me most. I’ve also noticed that much of the information I have can be useful to others as well. Believing that knowledge grows when shared, I’ve always enjoyed helping anyone who comes to me with questions, whether I know the answer or not. Yet sometimes, I find myself searching for the same things over and over…

After all this rambling, I hope this blog serves its purpose and reflects my thoughts.

Finally, let me explain the name of the blog. When choosing a name on Blogspot, the first thing that came to mind was, of course, “pharmacognosy.” But Blogspot seemed to think the name was too long and didn’t accept it as the address. When I had to shorten it, I decided to make a playful reference to the name our students often use (and that we always correct). Since I expected the main audience to be undergraduate and graduate pharmacy and pharmacognosy students, this became the blog address—but the name remains “Pharmacognosy.”

Since this is not an official site, I look forward to sharing it with you here until the www.farmakognozi.com address is ready.
